Singing Sauna with Ella Turk Richards Saturday 26th April 10-11am

Singing Sauna Session 

Come for a Saturday morning singing class with a difference. In the warmth of a beautiful woodfired sauna and with the guidance of super talented Ella Turk Richards.

The session will begin with acclimatisation and some relaxation exercises. Then you will be
guided through a gentle vocal warm up. This will flow into taking you through a series of simple pieces where you’ll be taught playful rhythms and melodic shapes that allow each of you to settle into listening to each other as much as enjoying the creation of the whole sound you make as a group.

 These pieces will have different colours in rhythm and style and be based in sound
making and are circular songs.

The culmination will be learning a piece written by Ella with some simple lyrics that you can hold either in one/two parts or several, depending on the ability of the group. There will be some opportunity and guidance given to improvise at various stages throughout the second half of the session for those who are comfortable to do so and for those who are curious to give vocal improvising a go even if they don’t feel confident to do this.

 But there is no pressure to improvise for those who do not want to.

You’ll be supported all the way and taken through creating a bonding sound world of heart rich and joyful music!!!!
